Any of the workshops below can be tailored to meet your system's or school's needs.  While we specialize in assessment help, we do have several workshops in specific content areas.  If you are looking for something you don't see below, simply contact me and let me know what you need!

ASSESSMENT WORKSHOPS
Performance Tasks:  One Step Further:  Various types of performance tasks are examined.  Teachers practice designing tasks that meet the cognitive level of the Georgia Performance Standards and develop culminating performance tasks that address the larger enduring understandings. (6 or 12 hours, can also be combined with Rubric Writing)

Rubric Writing:  How do you truly measure whether or not a student understands?  This workshop looks at a variety of rubrics and their pros and cons.  Teachers develop true rubrics for understanding.  (3 or 6 hours)

Test Development:  State testing is described in detail and teachers get practice writing questions that align to the intent and style of state assessments. (3 hours).

OTHER WORKSHOPS
Conceptual Teaching:  This workshop explores the primary pedagogy that drives the Georgia Performance Standards in Social Studies.  Topics explored include background research, use of themes, enduring understandings, and practical examples. (6 or 12 hours)

Crazy Economics:  From play-doh to popsicle sticks, get your students involved with creative takes on econ lessons in this wild workshop.  (3 hours).

Teaching the Judicial Process Through a Mock Trial:  Teachers participate in a condensed version of a mock criminal justice process and look at the alignment to the American Government standards.  Another purpose of the workshop is to look at how a culminating performance task can be used to guide instruction.  (3 or 6 hours).

What does a differentiated lesson look like?:  Teachers participate in two sample lessons that offer various types of differentiation.  Time permitting, teachers work on implementing the modeled tactics into their own lessons. (6 hours)
